This January, we will be imagining the icy fury of the elements, against the background of wintery myths all round the world. Isn't it interesting that how different cultures have expressed winter in the form of magical beings and elements? Norse mythology gives us a picture of the Frost Giants, which lived in their majestic citadel, Utgard. Danish author Hans Christian Andersen gave us the fairy tale of the Snow Queen, queen of the snowflakes or "snow bees", who travels throughout the world with the snow. In a more modern context, we've had Queen Elsa from Frozen, whom my little cousin loves dressing up as! We will have lovely blues and silvers, simply beautiful for magical snow and ice kingdoms. They'll be a little different from the usual greyish silver (but I won't give any more spoilers than that!) 🥰 I can't wait to get your boxes winging their way to you! (This box will be released soon, so the contents will not be revealed until each Sketch and Story box has reached its happy home!) |
